Playmodes: Blue Beams
Laser and sound show
Playmodes presents an audiovisual installation based on the synchronization of motorized laser beams and surround sound.
Through coordination of sound withe the beams movement, this kinetic sculpture becomes one more element of the landscape, refering with its movements and forms to organic elements such as waves, terrain undulations or wind turbulences, as well as to the new expressive possibilities that new digital creative media offer to sulpture and landscape design.
Through a process of research and building an audiovisual instrument has been developed which allows the writing of synchronized laser and quadraphonic noise. Most aspects of design and construction have been based on Open Source processes, shared with online communities, so hardware and software design of the instrument will be openly published on www.playmodes.com
