As with previous editions, special attention is paid to presenting emerging, local talent. 50% of MicroMUTEK 2012 artists are of Spanish or Catalan origin. Many of these appearances will be part of MicroMUTEK.ES’s free-of-charge Experience program, to be held on Saturday, February 11th,at the Convent de Sant Agusti as a special showcase of local Catalan talent. The completed line-up includes the following local performers:

Rounding out the first time Experience and Pre-Nocturne events and the classic A/Visions and Nocturne series is the LIVESOUNDTRACKS program, which will present new and original soundtracks created and performed live by Vladislav Delay [FI] and Lucrecia Dalt [CO], in accompaniment to silent films. Sasu Ripatti’s appearances as his two most respected monikers, Vladislav Delay and Luomo, are proudly presented by Red Bull Music Academy.
The popular DIGI_SECTION daytime professional conference returns this year in an expanded format, launching the festival on Wednesday February 8th with the first of 3 artist Q&A sessions in collaboration with the Red Bull Music Academy. These talks feature an array of artists including Deadbeat, Falty DL, Luomo/Vladislav Delay, Eddie C, San Proper and Guillamino.
This year’s DIGI_SECTION program also includes the festival’s first ever workshop, presented by new partner Ableton Live and led by Deadbeat, who will also be performing in support of his well-received Drawn and Quartered LP. The conference program is completed by a round table discussion on cultural tourism, produced in collaboration with Travelling Around Music.
In the final month before the festival, MUTEK.ES will be releasing a series of podcasts with music and interviews from participating artists, as well as a look at the local Barcelona electronic music scene. During the festival itself, a selection of daytime events will once again be livestreamed through return partner Struments Radio. Stay tuned via the following sites and outlets for more information:
